Are you a strategic, compassionate leader with a passion for building meaningful donor relationships and driving long-term income growth? We're looking for a Head of Legacy and In Memory Fundraising to lead and grow two of the most powerful income streams in our fundraising portfolio.

About the role





As the Head of Legacy and In Memory Fundraising, you'll be responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and delivery of our legacy giving and in memory fundraising programmes. Reporting to the Director of Public Fundraising, you'll lead a committed team to inspire supporters to leave a lasting gift, while developing thoughtful and sensitive ways for people to honour loved ones through in memory giving.



You'll play a pivotal role in securing long-term income by building strong, lasting relationships with supporters, developing innovative products and through-the-line marketing campaigns

,

and ensuring excellent supporter journeys that reflect the values of our organisation.



This is a key leadership role where you'll help shape the future landscape of legacy and in memory fundraising--both within our organisation and across the sector. You'll collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed legacy and in memory messaging across supporter journeys, and you'll represent us externally--working with partners, networks, legal professionals, and sector bodies to champion best practice and thought leadership.

Key responsibilities




Continue to deliver and develop our bold, insight-led strategy to grow legacy and in memory income. Lead, support and inspire a high-performing team to deliver ambitious targets. Work cross-organisationally to embed legacy messaging and in memory opportunities across all supporter touchpoints. Build and nurture relationships with key external partners and networks to position the organisation as a leader in this space. Monitor trends and use data and insight to inform decision-making and innovation. Represent the organisation externally at events and with partners to raise the profile of legacy and in memory giving.

About you




Significant experience in fundraising, with a strong track record of strategic development and income growth. Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team. A deep understanding of the sensitivities involved in legacy and in memory fundraising and the ability to communicate with empathy and integrity. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Excellent relationship-building skills - with both supporters and internal stakeholders. A passion for supporter-centric fundraising and creating meaningful, long-term connections. Confidence in representing the organisation externally and contributing to sector-wide discussions on legacy and in memory giving.
