Head of Legal

Location: Brighton (2 days per week in office, 3 days working from home)

MPB are on the search for a Head of Legal to lead MPB's global legal function, from our Brighton HQ! This is a high-impact role at the heart of our business, providing strategic and day-to-day legal support to enable sustainable growth. You'll balance commercial pragmatism with legal compliance, guiding the business through risk, regulation, and opportunity.



You will report to our CFO and will lead a developing legal function, including a newly qualified legal counsel. You will be responsible for shaping legal frameworks that scale with our international operations across the UK, US, and EU, including matters of data protection, consumer law, employment law, commercial contracting, corporate governance, and M&A activity.

What You Will Be Doing:

? Advising the Executive Team and Board on strategic legal issues

? Leading the legal function, including direct line management and mentoring of our Legal Counsel

? Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts

? Ensuring legal compliance across all jurisdictions, with particular focus on data protection, consumer law, and employment

? Managing external counsel relationships and budgets

? Developing and embedding scal;able workflows to manage legal tasks efficiently

?Promoting a strong culture of compliance and risk-awareness across MPB, through training and internal communications

Ideally, we are seeking applications from people who align with most of these areas:

Qualified Solicitor

in England and Wales with a valid practising certificate



Significant post-qualification experience in

corporate and commercial law

, ideally including both private practice and in-house roles



Demonstrated experience

supporting international operations

Strong working knowledge of UK, EU, and US legal frameworks, especially in

ecommerce and consumer regulation

Exceptional

communication and stakeholder engagement

skills



Experience in

managing legal teams

Proven ability to manage risk with

commercial sensitivity
