Job Description

Montu UK is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Logistics to lead all logistics, warehousing, and distribution operations across our UK business. This role is critical to ensuring the compliant, efficient, and reliable movement, storage, and delivery of Montu's products in alignment with UK cannabis regulations and pharmacy standards.

Core Responsibilities



Logistics & Supply Chain Operations



Oversee all inbound and outbound logistics across the UK, ensuring cost-effective and timely product movement. Ensure full compliance with GMP and GDP standards, as well as UK medical cannabis regulations governing controlled substances. Manage inventory control, warehouse operations, and product traceability to maintain full audit readiness. Optimise logistics processes and systems to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve service levels. Coordinate with pharmacies, import partners, regulatory authorities, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure seamless fulfilment. Establish and monitor KPIs and tracking systems for logistics performance, cost control, and service reliability.

Regulatory & Compliance



Ensure all logistics, storage, and transport activities adhere to applicable laws and quality frameworks. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MHRA, Home Office, and GPhC requirements for controlled drugs handling. Partner with the Responsible Person (RP), Quality, and Compliance teams to ensure proper documentation, product integrity, and reporting.

Warehouse & Distribution Leadership



Lead and develop the logistics and warehouse team, fostering operational excellence and accountability. Implement and maintain WMS (Warehouse Management System) and inventory tracking systems that support scalability. Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient warehouse environments aligned with company and regulatory standards.

Strategic Planning



Develop and execute a logistics strategy that supports Montu's UK growth plans and patient delivery standards. Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Pharmacy Operations, and Commercial teams to forecast and meet product demand. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, cost reduction, and service optimisation.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration (or equivalent experience). 7+ years' experience in logistics or supply chain leadership roles, ideally in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or medical cannabis. In-depth understanding of GDP, GMP, GPP, and controlled substance logistics. Proven success in warehouse management, transport optimisation, and logistics network design. Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated ability to build scalable systems and manage compliance in a regulated environment.
