Knowl Hill School, a progressive school in specialist education, is seeking a dedicated and inspirational Head of Mathematics to join our team starting in January 2026. The Role
As Head of Mathematics, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an innovative and engaging curriculum that caters to the diverse learning needs of our students. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for both staff and students, ensuring everyone can achieve their full potential. We are looking for someone who can ignite a passion for maths, helping students build confidence and overcome challenges.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a highly skilled teacher with a proven track record of success in teaching, leading a department and raising standards. The ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialisation in Mathematics.
Significant experience teaching mathematics to students with a range of special educational needs (SEN).
A deep understanding of different learning difficulties and strategies to support them.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
An advantage for applicants would be to have a dyscalculia qualification, as many of our students have specific learning difficulties with numeracy. This expertise would be highly valued in developing targeted interventions and support systems.
