Role Overview

Join AFC Fylde as the Head of Medical, where you'll lead and innovate within our Medical Department. You'll play a key role in optimizing player availability and delivering cutting-edge medical support across the First Team, Academy, and Women's team, ensuring the club remains at the forefront of sports science and healthcare excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

Injury Prevention:

Conduct annual injury audits, screenings, and physical tests to develop and implement prevention strategies.

Injury Management:

Diagnose injuries, create rehabilitation plans, and provide daily updates. Organize specialist appointments and deliver high-standard rehabilitation sessions.

Daily Operations:

Provide treatments, implement recovery protocols, and manage soft tissue provision. Maintain adherence to medical protocols and keep the treatment room operational.

Matchday Responsibilities:

Deliver pitch-side first aid, prepare medical kits, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Conduct emergency action plan meetings and incident debriefs.

Additional Duties:

Manage player availability, order medical supplies, foster relationships with partners, and assist in developing medical staff.

About You

Qualifications:

Degree-qualified Physiotherapist or Sports Therapist.

Experience:

Previous experience in Men's Football as a Physio is essential; Head Physio/Head of Medical experience is desirable.

Skills:

Leadership, communication, and organizational expertise, with a strong focus on injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Attributes:

Honesty, integrity, and professionalism, with a flexible approach to working hours. A clean driving license is required.
