Responsibilities will include:
Lead and mentor a team of naval architects, providing technical guidance and assuring the output of the team in the delivery of our products
Create an efficient department built on industry-leading techniques and data-driven solutions to minimize the time from problem to product
Develop and take responsibility for the naval architecture roadmap for future projects
Oversee project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
Confidently interface with internal and external customers to understand requirements and provide technical expertise
Maintain and champion excellent verbal and written communication with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing project requirements and timelines
Lead the team in adopting new technologies, processes, and methodologies
Manage change effectively to ensure minimal disruption to project delivery and team dynamics
The post holder is required to be aware of and fulfil those roles and responsibilities applicable to them contained within SubSea Craft Policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree-qualified in Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Marine Engineering or a related field
Proven track record in designing advanced maritime platforms, preferably including subsurface vessels
Strong leadership and team management skills, with a passion for personal development of others
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Rhino, Inventor, Star-CCM+, Paramarine, Maxsurf)
Familiarity with Atlassian suite is beneficial
Professional registration (chartership) with an appropriate institution desirable
Note
: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with UK National security clearance required for certain roles.
