MMID operates a nationwide logistics and manufacturing network, delivering over 2.5 billion litres of milk annually to more than 6,000 locations. We are now seeking a strategic and transformational leader to join our team as Head of Operations - MMID. This is a high-impact, field-based role responsible for driving operational performance, leading change, and aligning site-level execution with group-wide strategy.

Head of Operations Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Align site strategies with overall Group objectives to deliver world-class performance in safety, quality, service, cost, and people.
• Lead the development and execution of long-term operational plans, ensuring alignment with MMID's commercial and supply chain goals.
• Drive continuous improvement through benchmarking, key performance indicator (KPI) tracking, and cost-competitive initiatives.
• Play a key part in the implementation of the business strategy and growth.

Performance & Financial Management

• Full ownership of site-level financial performance, including budget delivery of circa 300m PA, cost control, and profit improvement.
• Identify and implement opportunities to reduce cost, maximise yield, and improve labour efficiency.
• Provide governance for major capital projects and oversee asset optimisation.

Change & Transformation

• Lead cross-functional change initiatives across the business whilst championing continuous improvement methodologies
• Drive systems and process innovation to support transformation and scalability.

People & Culture

• Inspire and engage site teams to deliver stretching KPIs through clear communication, recognition, and development plans.
• Build high-performing teams, manage succession planning, and lead talent development across operational functions.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Customer & Commercial Focus

• Partner with Commercial and New Product Development (NPD) teams to ensure operational readiness for new product launches and customer requirements.
• Act as a senior ambassador for MMID, supporting customer relationships and site visits.
• Ensure consistent delivery of excellent service and compliance with customer and regulatory standards.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Food Safety, and Regulatory standards.
• Ownership of 1600 vehicle assets across 14 operating centres.
• Lead environmental initiatives and sustainability projects in line with MMID's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments.

• Strong financial acumen, including profit and loss (P&L) ownership and capital project governance.
• Expertise in operational strategy, systems thinking, and continuous improvement.
