Role: Head of Operations

Location: East Midlands (On-site)

Salary: 55,000 - 70,000

Connect to Evolve is working with a fast growing e-commerce, consumer goods, scale-up who are searching for a Head of Operations to join their team.

This is a key role within the business during a crucial point in its expansion, overseeing all areas of the production process - including manufacturing, warehousing and order fulfilment. The business is scaling quickly, and this position will play a pivotal role in increasing capacity, reducing costs, and driving automation projects to improve efficiency.

What will you do?

Lead day-to-day operations across manufacturing, warehousing, and fulfilment. Develop and implement strategies to increase site capacity and output. Drive cost efficiency, optimising labour, materials, and process flows. Identify and implement automation opportunities. Oversee warehouse and pick & pack operations to ensure speed, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Lead and develop operational teams, building a culture of continuous improvement. Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and quality standards. Use KPIs and data to measure performance, spot bottlenecks, and deliver improvements. Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support business growth.

Knowledge and skills required

Proven track record in an operations leadership role within manufacturing and consumer goods. Strong experience in scaling operations and managing large facilities. Experience in a SME environment. Hands-on expertise in cost reduction and process improvement. Demonstrated success in leading automation or technology-driving efficiency projects. Solid understanding of safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards. Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams. Commercially minded, data-driven, and confident using KPIs to guide decision making. Excellent problem-solving skills and the resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
