Position: Head of Physical Education (PE)

Qualification: A relevant degree and QTS, proven leadership experience
Randstad Education has an exciting leadership opportunity for a dynamic and inspirational Head of Physical Education (PE) to join a thriving academy. The suitable candidate will be responsible for shaping an outstanding curriculum and inspiring both students and staff.
This is a permanent position and you will be required to support five days a week Monday - Friday inline with school hours.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the PE department, including staff, curriculum, and strategy.
• Drive standards of teaching and learning and be accountable for student attainment and progress.
• Manage the departmental budget, resources, and extra-curricular sports programme.
• Ensure departmental compliance with all safeguarding and health & safety policies.
• Act as the lead practitioner and role model for excellence in PE.

Preferred Skills:

• Proven leadership and management experience within a school (e.g., Second in Department, Head of Key Stage).
• A strong track record of improving student attainment and exam results.
• Experience in curriculum design, strategic planning, and implementation.
• Skill in managing a departmental budget and resources.
• Ability to lead and develop a successful extra-curricular sports programme.
