We are looking for a Head of Planning to lead a reliable, data-driven Work Management & Planning function that transforms demand and operational constraints into safe, compliant, and efficient engineer plans. Drive productivity and effectiveness by prioritising predictable days, clear rules, and continuous improvement through evidence-led changes.


What will you be doing?





As a Head of Planningfor BES Group, you will lead the end-to-end workforce and capacity planning process, building accurate forecasts, optimising resource allocation, and ensuring alignment with business, safety, and service objectives. You'll drive continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and the effective use of planning tools to deliver operational excellence and cost efficiency



You will:


Build and maintain accurate demand forecasts using data, seasonality, and commercial insights. Run scenario modelling to optimise resources and maintain strong service performance. Align workforce skills, certifications, and recruitment plans with future workload needs. Develop cross-skilling and capacity strategies to manage peaks and regional variations. Lead decisions on reallocation and optimisation to protect SLAs and uphold safety standards. Maintain a rolling 3-12 month capacity outlook to support strategic and financial planning. Own and analyse planning KPIs, driving continuous improvement across operations. Champion the use of workforce planning tools, scheduling systems, and automation. Ensure planning processes meet statutory, safety, and compliance requirements.

To join our team, you will need:




You bring senior leadership experience in large-scale, multi-region field workforce planning and scheduling. You're hands-on with real-time scheduling, routing, and workforce management tools -- confident in fine-tuning parameters and understanding their operational impact. You have a proven track record in day-to-day control operations and appointment quota management. You possess strong technical knowledge of work types, visit creation, SLA logic, and asset or site consolidation. You're customer-focused, taking ownership of the full booking and communication experience -- not just the optimiser behind it. You're a clear, calm, and data-driven leader who earns trust across teams, from field engineers to commercial stakeholders. Experience within an inspection or TICC environment would be an advantage.
