We're making a significant investment in pricing capability with a comprehensive pricing transformation programme. This includes the implementation of new pricing software, market-leading modelling, and performance monitoring approaches. Our pricing structure is more aligned to focus on the key disciplines of technical pricing, market pricing and pricing governance. As a result, several vacancies have arisen, with a need for strong data science, actuarial and governance skills.

We're looking for an experienced Pricing professional to lead pricing governance for AXA Health. You'll ensure positive, balanced and effective pricing and underwriting risk control, with a strong focus on achieving good customer outcomes and commercial targets.

You'll lead sub teams focussed on pricing assurance and risk control, underwriting governance and quality control. Delivering a robust pricing systems and data, you'll ensure positive and balanced risk control is adopted throughout the pricing team and pricing processes.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at our Tunbridge Wells office, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you'll be doing:



Owning the Pricing governance strategy and approach, ensuring a balanced approach for us to achieve commercial objectives whilst generating positive customer outcomes. Establishing effective model governance committee, Pricing and Underwriting Committee to enable agile decision-making whilst controlling pricing risk. Providing effective pricing proposals to ensure risks are well understood and managed appropriately. Ensuring customer impact is considered at all stages of the pricing process. Proactively be aware of existing and upcoming legal, regulatory, compliance, and other internal business requirements. Guarantee that documented pricing and underwriting risks and controls are appropriate.

What you'll bring:



Comprehensive understanding of PMI products and market. Experience of pricing and underwriting approaches and systems. Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory environment. Demonstrable resilience and experience of successfully managing multiple priorities. Strategic thinker, and able to translate strategy into a delivery plan. Ability to grasp and explain a range of technical concepts to all business stakeholders. Excellent mathematical skills. Proven track record in people development skills and effective performance management.


As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
