We're looking for a seasoned

Senior Project Management professional

to lead our Project Management Office (PMO) in the Rolling Stock Customer Services business. This high-impact leadership role is essential in mobilising project management capability to meet the operational demands of our rolling stock customers--including train operators, leasing companies, and fleet owners--across maintenance depots and service delivery sites nationwide.

You'll create impact by:

Leading a high-performing PMO team fully embedded in operations yet focused on best-in-class governance and delivery across a dynamic portfolio. You'll ensure our projects - ranging from fleet upgrades and depot modernisation to crash repairs and overhaul programmes, meet commercial, safety, and performance expectations. Shaping a project delivery framework that aligns with strategic business goals and customer priorities. By embedding best-practice tools and methodologies, you'll strengthen consistency, risk management, financial oversight, and resource planning across all project activity. Building strong relationships across matrix teams - engineering, commercial, operations, and central PMO functions - and providing visible, hands-on leadership. With teams and projects spread across the UK, your flexibility to travel and make a tangible impact on the ground will be essential.

You'll break new ground by



A strong background in project or programme management, ideally leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects in operational or service-led environments. The ability to manage commercial risk, project financials, and delivery outcomes across multiple live workstreams. Confidence working across matrix organisations, aligning diverse teams to shared outcomes while navigating stakeholder priorities. You don't need to come from the rail industry--but you must be ready to become immersed in rolling stock service operations, quickly gaining an understanding of depot environments, fleet requirements, and customer expectations. A leadership style that builds capability and trust, brings clarity under pressure, and promotes safety, consistency, and accountability in delivery. Certification or familiarity with structured and reputable project methodologies, and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
