Head of Purchasing UK and Ireland

to manage critical supplier relationships, drive high-stakes projects and lead a team of five strategic buyers.


What you'll do:

Lead procurement across our divisions, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals Oversee and optimise our spend portfolio Manage and develop a team of strategic buyers, fostering growth and accountability Directly manage key supplier relationships for critical raw materials Deliver complex procurement projects, including sustainability-led initiatives Negotiate contracts and ensure effective supplier performance management Work collaboratively within a matrix environment, aligning internal stakeholder priorities Drive procurement excellence through cross-functional collaboration Contribute to the global procurement strategy Identify and implement cost optimisation and long-term value creation opportunities



What you'll have:

Significant procurement experience in complex, multi-site environments Proven experience leading and developing procurement teams Strong contract negotiation and supplier relationship management expertise Demonstrated ability in strategic sourcing and category management Skilled in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration Experience working in a matrix structure, balancing diverse business needs Proficiency in procurement systems, especially Ariba and SAP is desirable Strong commercial mindset with a proactive, strategic approach Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills Experience in supplier risk management and performance evaluation
