You will provide strategic and operational leadership for quality assurance, championing excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment across FE, HE, apprenticeships, English and maths, and online learning.
Your role will involve working closely with faculty teams, central departments, learners, and external partners to embed a culture of continuous improvement. You will ensure that quality systems, inspection readiness, and performance monitoring support both regulatory compliance and enhanced learner outcomes. Strategic Quality Leadership:
Lead and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy across FE, HE, apprenticeships, English and maths, and online learning, ensuring outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance:
Monitor and evaluate curriculum quality, analyse KPIs, and ensure inspection readiness to drive regulatory compliance and improved learner outcomes.
Staff Development & Stakeholder Collaboration:
Support professional development, embed best teaching practices, and work with internal and external partners to foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
What do you need to be a successful Head of Quality at Activate Learning?
To thrive as Head of Quality at Activate Learning, you will need a strong foundation in teaching, learning, and assessment, paired with proven leadership experience in quality assurance. Success in this role requires the ability to inspire and motivate teams, influence stakeholders at all levels, and use data effectively to drive continuous improvement. You will be expected to maintain high standards across a wide range of educational provision, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks while fostering innovation and excellence. A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to developing both staff and organisational practices are essential to delivering exceptional learning outcomes.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Significant experience in teaching, learning, and assessment, with proven success in planning, delivering, and improving high-quality educational outcomes, alongside strong leadership and team management skills.
Deep knowledge of quality assurance processes, including internal audits, external inspections, regulatory compliance (Ofsted), and familiarity with apprenticeship standards, EPA, and funding requirements.
Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and IT skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of professional development.
