An introduction to BIMM University

BIMM opens the door to the creative industry by encouraging creative freedom, real-world industry experience and a community experience for both our students and our workforce. We are proud to be a leading provider of Higher and Further Education courses in popular music, performing arts and film through our five brands:

BIMM Institute,
Institute for Contemporary Theatre,
Northern Ballet School,
Performers College and;
Screen and Film School.

We are a growing business that currently work across eight highly creative cities in the UK, Ireland and Germany.

This role is within BIMM Institute in Manchester.

About the Role

The Head of School will provide leadership in their specialist area and to support the Dean of Music to ensure that students are at the heart of our curriculum and assure excellence in learning, teaching and assessment practices. They will be the university representative for their subject area at one of our college/campus locations and provide day-to-day curriculum and teaching delivery leadership.

In addition, they will line-manage Course Leaders and be responsible for tutor recruitment in their subject area. The Heads of School are senior members of the Provost\'s Office of BIMM University and, as such, are the senior university representative for their subject area on campus. The Head of School will be accountable for student success within their local campus context.

The Head of School is expected to be on campus a minimum of four days per week.
