Walker and Sloan are proud to be working with a well known Performance Marketing Agency in London, as they are keen to bring on board an experienced Head of SEO into their team on a full time basis.



Salary: Up to 85k DOE



Location: London

Role Overview:

We're looking for a commercially minded and highly strategic Head of SEO to lead the agency's SEO offering, manage and mentor the SEO team, and grow key client relationships. You'll own the SEO vision, ensure delivery excellence, and play a pivotal part in the agency's continued growth.



This role suits someone passionate about technical SEO, content strategy, leadership, and pushing boundaries to deliver award-winning organic performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing SEO team Develop the agency's SEO strategy, best practices, and internal processes Act as the senior strategic voice for all things organic search Support departmental growth and resource planning

Client Management

Own relationships with key clients, delivering senior-level SEO consultancy Present SEO strategy, performance insights, and roadmap recommendations Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts

SEO Delivery & Innovation

Oversee technical SEO audits, content optimisation, keyword research, and forecasting Ensure SEO strategies align with client objectives and broader digital plans Collaborate with Paid Media, Content, UX and Development teams Champion SEO innovation, tools, testing frameworks, and new methodologies

Commercial & Operational

Support new business pitches and SEO proposals Contribute to revenue growth through strategic upselling and cross-service collaboration Ensure smooth operations, project delivery, and quality assurance across SEO output

Skills and Experience:

Proven experience leading SEO in an agency environment (Senior SEO Manager, SEO Lead, or Head of SEO level) Strong background in technical SEO, content strategy, site architecture and analytics Confident managing clients, leading strategy, and presenting insights Experience managing and developing a team Advanced knowledge of SEO tools: Screaming Frog, Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs/SEMrush, STAT, Looker Studio Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JS frameworks, CMS) Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate analytics into clear actions Commercially aware, with experience supporting pitches and agency growth
