About the role...



The primary purpose of this role is to provide full Safety, Health & Environmental support to the Company's Senior Management Team ensuring that the Company adheres to Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation, Regulations and ACOPs, i.e. ensure Statutory Compliance

Key duties include, but are not limited to:

Liaise and coordinate with all external certification bodies ensuring the retention of BS EN ISO 14001 and BS EN ISO 45001 as appropriate.

To assist with the management external and internal audit processes for SHE disciplines.

Liaise with other interested parties such as the local/governing enforcement authorities and insurers.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance

To communicate to all staff, through training where appropriate, to confirm understanding of their own responsibilities in ensuring the Company's compliance in terms of SHE.

To ensure that any accidents or incidents are reported to the management and other relevant bodies and that all accidents are investigated to an appropriate level and suitable remedial actions are identified on a low as reasonably practicable basis.

To report to the senior management team on a frequent basis on any underlying SHE trends and provide accurate & graphical information using accrued on-site data

To develop and implement safe systems of work including company policies, procedures, and accompanying infrastructure or training using internal or external resources as required.

To manage and instigate improvement work identified from several sources including; audits, reports and risk assessments to ensure work is sufficiently brought to a satisfactory conclusion.

To arrange suitable external companies to undertake the work and to follow the company's SHE management systems.

To conduct, review, update and write suitable and sufficient risk assessments covering the range of on-site hazards and document the resolution of necessary actions appropriately.

Chair the Safety Committee.

Promote, consult and discuss SHE in the workplace.

To arrange, document and manage the training needs of the Company using external and internal training resources.

Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures.

What we're looking for...



Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)

Good working knowledge of computer programmes (MS-Office etc).

Qualified internal auditor.

Proven experience in a similar role.

Technical capability and understanding.

Proven track record in driving continuous improvement activities.

Experience working within an 14001 and ISO 45001 certified environment.
