Head of Speech and Language Therapy



Location:

North West - This is a regional based role covering many areas of the North West and our Head Office which is in Cheadle, Stockport.



Salary:

Up to 55,000 depending on experience

bMindful Psychology are currently recruiting a Head of Speech and Language Therapy to support our SALT team and our clients in the North West region. Based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, bMindful Psychology provides a wide range of specialist psychological therapy services to support children, adolescents and young people and those who care for them.

Job description



The role will be responsible in leading the development of Speech & Language Services for both existing and prospective clients, ensuring a high standard of Speech & Language Therapy is identified, assessed and delivered across our range of service users including residential childcare/look after children, fostering families, education and on a private referral or local authority referral basis.

To undertake a comprehensive assessment of children including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi-pathologies; use advanced reasoning skills and assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition Formulate and deliver an individual Speech & Language Therapy treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills Communicate effectively with parents, carers and other professionals providing advice and guidance on complex and sensitive cases as appropriate Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own work, including the delivery of interventions directly with children and young people Hold a small case load alongside your management duties and offer specialist support and guidance when required Ensure a high standard of clinical care for the children/clients under your management and support team members to do likewise Support prospective client/private referral discussions to appropriately advise on methods/packages of support relevant to the needs of the child/young person and team around the child Support the development of service delivery proposals for prospective clients Identify effective methods of marketing to key groups/audiences Develop and deliver business development activities such as webinars, conferences, podcasts etc

Qualifications and Skills



Professional Qualified Speech and Language Therapy qualification to degree level. HCPC registration. Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
