- THE ROLE -
The Head of Sport and Active Lifestyle is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of the University's Sports Academy, the provision of opportunities for staff and students to participate in physical activity, and the delivery of the University's commercial sport provision.
Based at the Carmarthen campus but working across all campuses, this role is embedded in Student Services and will also work closely with relevant academic colleagues. The role is focused on (i) delivering an excellent student experience, (ii) shaping the future direction of sport across UWTSD's multi-campus environment, and (iii) building a participative and engaging culture around sport and physical activity throughout the University.
This post holder will have responsibility for ensuring a cohesive and inclusive approach to sport and physical activity across the UWTSD Group's Further and Higher Education provision. The post holder will contribute to student recruitment and progression pathways, particularly in relation to students belonging to the University's Sports Academy. The post holder will play a key role in the implementation of the University's Health and Wellbeing Strategy, embedding physical activity and sport into the wider institutional culture promoting a holistic approach to wellbeing for university staff and students.
