new Head of Sustainability

? We are seeking an outstanding leader with a strong passion for Sustainability. You will be responsible for creating and delivering a clear Sustainability Strategy, leading energy, decarbonisation, and climate change programmes, and overseeing the development and day-to-day monitoring of all initiatives and projects within the Sustainability Team's remit.

Duties include:



Provide strategic leadership of the Sustainability function across Incommunities. Rigorously

manage and monitor performance

to achieve a delivery service which is consistently high quality, represents value for money and delivers high levels of customer satisfaction.

Develop, implement and embed a new Incommunities Sustainability Strategy

including effective, policy, procedure, reporting, systems and training to enhance community sustainability, protect the environment, and combat climate change. Strategic

Development of an Incommunities Sustainability Action Plan

in line with the SAMP.

Track the organisation's progress

against key objectives, including achieving EPC band C by 2030 and net zero carbon operations by 2050, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative standards. Work with various teams to

ensure sustainability and energy projects are compliant with regulations and financial requirements

, including grant funding.

Manage a team of experts

to offer technical and specialist advice on sustainability, energy, and climate change.

Keep fully appraised of changes in regulations

, best practice, trends and assess the potential impact of these to Incommunities and ensure any resultant changes are made in a timely manner.

Develop and lead all aspects of contract, project and procurement activity

around business wide sustainability (e.g. electric vehicles) including contract management for externally provided services. Responsibility for

effective budget management, profit and loss, and monitoring and controlling cashflow and expenditure

in accordance with the business plan, procedures and financial regulations.

Requirements



Qualifications:

A relevant construction/assets/sustainability related degree or professional qualification such as a First Degree, Award, Certificate or Diploma at level 6 or equivalent. (e.g., First Degree, Award, Certificate, or Diploma)

Leadership Experience:

Proven line management experience, with the ability to motivate and encourage teams.

Project Management:

Substantial experience in managing large projects within the housing sector, including grant-funded projects.

Sustainability Knowledge:

Significant knowledge of sustainability, energy, and climate change measures.

Strategic Experience:

Experience working at a strategic level, implementing a robust asset investment function, and meeting objectives and KPIs.

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, effective at all organisational levels.

Analytical Skills:

Strong analytical and interpretation skills, with the ability to deliver results under pressure.

Interpersonal Skills

: Good team and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with colleagues with courtesy, tact, and sensitivity.

Customer Focus:

Understanding of customer needs and ensuring compliance with statutory
