Head of Technical Services



We are a dynamic IT solutions provider specialising in networking infrastructure, cybersecurity, and hybrid cloud technologies. With strong partnerships across Aruba, Fortinet, Microsoft, HPE, Dell and others, we deliver robust, secure, and scalable solutions to clients across the Public Sector.

Our Technical Services team is key to our success, ensuring technical excellence and delivering projects that exceed expectations. The Head of Technical Services is a strategic leadership role, managing a team of ~10 Engineers and Project Managers. You will oversee service delivery across advanced networking (Fortinet, Aruba), security infrastructures, and hybrid cloud (Microsoft, HPE), while driving operational excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Team Management



Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary Professional Services Team.

Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture aligned with strategic goals.

Drive team growth and talent development to meet business demands.

Project & Service Delivery



Oversee end-to-end delivery of all professional services / technical service engagements.

Ensure use of best-practice methodologies (e.g., Agile, Prince2).

Serve as escalation point for complex or high-impact projects.

Technical Oversight & Innovation



Be the subject matter expert for the business for all technical matters.

Provide guidance across networking (Aruba, Fortinet), security, and hybrid

cloud (Microsoft Azure, HPE).

Support internal infrastructure decisions and customer solution architecture.

Stay current with emerging technologies to ensure competitive service offerings.

Client Engagement & Satisfaction



Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor.

Ensure delivery excellence, value realisation, and continuous improvement.

Support clients with technology strategy, digital transformation,

and IT optimisation.

Commercial Strategy & Collaboration



Partner with Sales and Pre-Sales on solution scoping, SOWs, and proposals.

Contribute to pricing models, KPI dashboards, and service development.

Provide technical input on tenders, bid responses, and key accounts.

Solution Design & Implementation



Lead solution design with focus on scalability, performance, security,

and maintainability.

Collaborate with Consultants and Sales on complex technical proposals.

Provide technical leadership during project delivery, including client interaction.

Quality & Compliance



Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, 14001, 27001, GDPR, CHAS and ISMS frameworks.

Maintain high standards in documentation, QA processes, and

regulatory compliance.

Partner with the business to ensure all compliance certifications are managed proactively, particularly 270001.

Operational Efficiency



Streamline internal processes to improve project delivery and service performance.

Support technical resourcing, risk identification, and capacity planning.

Drive alignment with commercial and strategic business objectives.

Required Qualifications & Skills



Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.

Project management certification (Prince2, PMP, Agile, etc.).

Relevant technical certifications (Fortinet NSE, Aruba, Microsoft Azure,

HPE) desirable.

Proven experience leading professional services or technical delivery teams

in the IT sector.

Strong expertise in networking and security (Aruba, Fortinet) and hybrid

cloud (Azure, HPE).

Demonstrated success managing technical and project delivery teams.

Commercial awareness and experience working with sales and pre-sales teams.

Ability to build trust with clients and motivate high-performing teams.

Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Excellent documentation and presentation skills.

Proactive in identifying and resolving technical issues before they impact delivery.

Awareness of new technologies and their relevance to our services.

Experience in a managed service provider environment is a plus.

Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 75,000.00-85,000.00 per year

Pension / car allowance / Life Assurance / Private Medical Insurance / EAP

Full time, Monday - Friday

On site at the Oxfordshire HQ

Full right to work in the UK required.

Enhanced DBS check required
