Role Overview



We are a UK-based training company specialising in the construction industry. We are seeking an experienced

Head of Training & Accreditation

to lead the design, development, quality assurance, and accreditation of our retail training products.

This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for

building accredited training programmes

, managing relationships with awarding bodies, and ensuring all learning materials meet regulatory, industry, and quality standards. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping our training strategy and supporting the continued growth and credibility of the business.

Key ResponsibilitiesTraining & Curriculum Development



Lead the

end-to-end development

of accredited and non-accredited construction training programmes. Design and oversee high-quality learning materials, including: Course syllabi and lesson plans Learner workbooks and trainer packs Assessments, marking criteria, and evidence requirements Ensure all training content aligns with: Industry best practice Awarding body requirements UK regulatory and compliance standards

Accreditation & Awarding Body Management



Act as the primary point of contact with awarding and accrediting organisations, including: CITB NEBOSH IOSH CPD Manage applications, approvals, audits, and ongoing compliance for accredited programmes. Maintain accurate documentation and evidence to support audits, inspections, and quality reviews. Monitor changes to awarding body standards and ensure timely updates to training materials.

Quality Assurance & Compliance



Develop and maintain internal quality assurance processes for training delivery and assessment. Ensure compliance with awarding body, regulatory, and internal quality standards. Lead internal audits and support external audits and quality visits. Implement continuous improvement processes based on feedback, audit outcomes, and industry changes.

Strategy & Leadership



Define and implement the company's

training and accreditation strategy

. Advise senior leadership on new qualification opportunities and market developments. Support trainers and subject matter experts in the effective delivery of accredited training. Where applicable, manage and mentor training, curriculum, or quality staff.

Essential Experience & Skills



Proven experience in a

senior training, accreditation, or quality role

within the UK construction or health & safety sector. Hands-on experience working with awarding bodies such as

CITB, NEBOSH, IOSH

, and

CPD frameworks

. Demonstrable experience

developing accredited learning materials

from concept to approval. Strong understanding of: Qualification frameworks Commercial aspects of training Assessment methodologies Quality assurance and compliance processes Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. High attention to detail with strong organisational skills. Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on course development. Use of AI technology and video learning technology

Desirable Qualifications



NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent health & safety qualification. Teaching, training, or assessing qualifications (e.g. AET, TAQA, IQA). Experience supporting audits or centre approvals.
