Team/Role Overview

In your role as Head of UK Middle Office Oversight you will be providing leadership and direction for the oversight team across the range of Middle Office services, providing KPI and metric based reporting to identify opportunities to drive efficiencies, maintaining a strong control environment and talent development. Client ownership is key with a requirement to meet with clients on their service deliveries and work in partnership with them on their transformation activities, driving through transformation across the security services functions to align to their business needs and provide an excellent client experience.

The Head of UK Middle Office is a newly created senior role to support the growing services primarily for the largest Middle Office client. The Middle Office team operate in locations across APAC, NAM and EMEA performing a range of functions on behalf of our UK clients including Investment Book of Record, Trade Capture, Trade Processing, Voluntary Corporate Actions and Reconciliations.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Accountable for the Middle Office Operations and Oversight delivery at a local level, including people managers as well as partner across departments and the business to develop and enhance cost effective processes that meet client expectations and needs
  • Ensure we leverage both our regional and global footprint and capabilities to deliver service excellence to our UK clients, and ensure the appropriate client management structures are in place to support our client needs
  • Assess new business and client change viability against existing business capabilities and make appropriate recommendations and decisions
  • Leadership of the Oversight teams, encourage employee career progression through management processes, appropriate training, and Professional Development Plans (PDPs)
  • Evaluate risk and controls, including operational impact of client and legislation changes, ensure compliance to established controls
  • Lead strategic initiatives and drive transformation to deliver operational excellence and embed new product developments across the Middle Office oversight and functional partners
  • Monitor, set, and achieve established department goals during day-to-day operations as well as serve as point of escalation for complex issues and manage resolution of issues and new business requests

  • Strong leadership and talent development skills are essential
  • Proven track record of driving transformation across a global organization
  • Significant knowledge and experience of client relationship management
  • Experience of developing and delivering on strategic initiatives and driving efficiency
  • Experience of managing global teams across functions
  • Experience of managing multiple senior stakeholder across a global organization internally and with the client
  • Experience in securities services operations or investment management organization with a good understanding of financial markets, Middle Office Operations or Funds
