The Head of Warehousing & Logistics is responsible for overseeing the logistics, and operational functions of the organisation. This role involves strategic planning, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring that the logistics processes are efficient and effective. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of improving operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and productivity. Oversee warehousing, inventory management and distribution. Lead and manage the operations and logistics teams, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards. Manage budgets and financial planning for the operations and logistics departments. Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction. Implement and maintain logistics and warehouse management systems (WMS). Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and key stakeholders. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure quality and compliance.

KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

On Time In Full: Measure the percentage of orders delivered on or before the scheduled delivery date and achieve 99.5% OTIF Inventory Accuracy: Track the accuracy of inventory records compared to physical stock counts and achieve 98% stock accuracy target Order Fulfilment Rate: Measure the percentage of orders fulfilled without errors or delays achieving 99% Warehouse Efficiency: Monitor the productivity of warehouse operations, including picking, packing, assembly and shipping times. Cost Per Line: Track the average cost incurred to process and deliver each line & tonne shipped seeking Month on Month improvements Supplier Performance: Evaluate the reliability and performance of suppliers based on delivery times, and adherence to supplier manual Health and Safety Compliance: Track the number of health and safety incidents, ensure compliance with regulations, and ensure all incidents / Accidents are investigated looking for year on year improvement Operational Efficiency: Monitor overall operational efficiency, including process improvements and cost reductions to exceed on delivering against the budget

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Essential:

3+ years in a Warehouse management position

Proven experience leading a team

Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills

Experience with lean management and continuous improvement methodologies

Experienced in project delivery and able to stick to and meet deadlines

Demonstrate an enthusiasm and passion for their work, our brand and our product ranges

IOSH Trained

Desirable:

Experience writing or maintaining internal process documentation

Background working in a manufacturing or fencing company
