Our Head of Wellness

As Head of Wellness,you'll

shape and lead the entire wellness vision

at The Newt in Somerset. Blending strategy,creativity and calm,grounded leadership,you will define the Spa's philosophy,champion innovative herb and botanical-led experiences,and position The Newt as a

global leader in luxury wellbeing.

From signature treatments and seasonal programmes to new revenue opportunities and guest journeys,you'll ensure every touchpoint reflects uncompromising standards of quality,authenticity and care.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver a bold,long-term wellness strategy that elevates The Newt to global prominence. Define and uphold a clear wellness philosophy so every guest experience reflects our identity and world-class standards. Monitor global trends and innovations in wellness to keep the Spa market-leading and forward-thinking. Create signature treatments,seasonal programmes,workshops and holistic experiences rooted in botanical and herb-led practices. Champion the development of natural,estate-derived treatments that tell our unique wellness story. Work closely with the Spa Manager and Head Therapist to ensure exceptional treatment quality and guest satisfaction. Inspire,mentor and develop the Spa team,fostering a culture of elevated hospitality,teamwork and continuous improvement. Use data and sound commercial judgement to identify revenue opportunities and support long-term operational and financial excellence.

What we're looking for

Inspiring,calm and grounded leader with experience in dynamic

luxury hospitality,destination spas or wellness resorts.

Deeply guest-centric and intuitive,with a passion for crafting meaningful,personalised wellness experiences.

Visionary and strategic mindset

,able to balance big-picture direction with day-to-day operational excellence. Highly organised,forward-planning and methodical,with strong judgement and integrity. Excellent communicator who builds strong relationships and collaborates effectively across departments. Strong commercial acumen,confident working with budgets and identifying new revenue opportunities. In-depth understanding of global wellness trends and innovations. Genuine passion for natural therapies,herbs and botanical wellness traditions; experience in herb-based treatment development is highly desirable.

Senior leadership experience

motivating,mentoring and inspiring teams to deliver consistently high standards. Professional spa or wellness qualifications such as CIDESCO,CIBTAC or ITEC are highly desirable.

The Spa at The Newt in Somerset is a nature-led wellbeing space inspired by the estate's gardens,herbs,and botanical traditions. The Hammam is a key feature of the Spa,offering natural cleansing and heat-based rituals central to our wellness philosophy. Guests also enjoy Rasul,Halotherapy,Steam Room,Sauna,and indoor/outdoor pools. Treatments and products are crafted using estate-grown herbs and botanicals,creating a calm,natural environment focused on real and restorative wellbeing.
