We are recruiting for a

Head

Pastry Chef

to join the team at

Thurlestone Hotel & Spa

working in the 2 AA Rosette

Trevilder Restaurant.



The right candidate will be enrolled on a pastry apprenticeship through HIT training and is a great opportunity to learn, live and earn in a wonderful part of Devon

Live in accommodation is available

in our newly opened fully refurbished staff house just 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

Thurlestone Hotel & Spa is a luxury, family-owned, 4-star 65-bedroom hotel situated on the spectacular South Devon coast. The hotel includes the 2 AA Rosette Trevilder Restaurant, Voyage Spa, 9-hole golf course, The Village inn Pub as well as a range of sports facilities including tennis and a seasonal kids club.

About the role



Our 2 AA Rosette Trevilder Restaurant serves breakfast and dinner daily to our hotel residents, offering a locally sourced TDH menu with daily specials. We also offer lunches in the hotels Terrace Bar and poolside Rockpool bistro and afternoon teas in the lounges.

We are looking for is someone who will show the same commitment and passion that all our chefs do and buy in to the work-ethic they have as a team.

Key Responsibilities



Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within the speciality section. Manage all day-to-day operations of the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen. To develop, design and create new ideas and items for Pastry Kitchen. Create new and exciting desserts to renew hotels menus and engage the interest of guests. Ensure excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings. Follow proper handling and right temperature of all food products. Decorate pastries and desserts using different types of icings, toppings etc. and ensure the food presentation will be beautiful and exciting. Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation.
