Key Responsibilities:
Menu Creation:
Develop and innovate a stunning dessert menu that complements our restaurant's overall theme and cuisine.
Recipe Development:
Create and test new recipes, ensuring they meet our high standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of pastry chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Quality Control:
Oversee the preparation and presentation of all desserts, ensuring they meet our quality and aesthetic standards.
Inventory Management:
Manage inventory and sourcing of ingredients, maintaining cost efficiency and minimizing waste.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the executive chef and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless kitchen operations and coordination.
Training:
Provide training and development for pastry team members, ensuring consistent execution of recipes and techniques.
Health & Safety:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.
Customer Interaction:
Occasionally interact with guests to gain feedback and refine dessert offerings based on their preferences.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience as a Head Patissier or Senior Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
Exceptional creativity and a strong passion for pastry arts and proven experience creating french classics
In-depth knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and flavor combinations.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
Culinary degree or equivalent experience in the pastry field.
Other Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts following established recipes and quality standards
- Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, and place orders as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen area
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new pastry items that meet customer preferences
- Assist in training junior pastry staff members
- Ensure timely production of pastries to meet customer demands
- Uphold a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with colleagues and customers
Desirable Experience:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in a restaurant or bakery setting
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert presentation
- Familiarity with food production processes, kitchen operations, and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality output
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
