Head Dental Reception Role Description Position Summary
The Head Dental Receptionist oversees the daily operations of the dental front desk, ensuring smooth patient flow, excellent customer service, and efficient administrative processes. This role acts as the primary liaison between patients, dental staff, and management.
Key Responsibilities Front Desk Leadership
Supervise, train, and support reception staff.
Organize daily front desk schedules and task assignments.
Ensure reception procedures are followed consistently.
Patient Interaction & Customer Service
Greet patients, answer inquiries, and address concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, recalls, and cancellations.
Maintain a welcoming and efficient reception area.
Administrative & Operational Duties
Oversee patient check-in and check-out processes.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence.
Coordinate with clinical team to optimize appointment flow and reduce delays.
Financial Responsibilities
Process payments, billing, finance, and receipts,
Verify insurance coverage and explain financial policies to patients.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
Compliance & Record Keeping
Ensure adherence to privacy regulations
Maintain accurate logs, reports, and front office documentation.
Uphold infection control policies related to the reception area.
Skills & Qualifications
Experienced in front-of-house work
Strong leadership and communication skills.
