Key Responsibilities:

Lead the wine program, curating and maintaining a distinguished wine list that complements our menu and caters to the diverse preferences of our guests. Provide exceptional customer service, assisting guests in selecting wines that elevate their dining experience. Collaborate with management and the culinary team to design wine-pairing suggestions for seasonal menus, special events, and private dining experiences. Conduct regular wine tastings, guest events, and staff training sessions to ensure a consistently high standard of wine knowledge and service. Build and maintain strong relationships with wine distributors, producers, and industry professionals to source unique and exclusive wines. Stay up to date with wine industry trends, new releases, and emerging regions to keep the program fresh and innovative. Oversee wine cellar management, ensuring correct storage, handling, and stock control to preserve quality and manage costs. Lead, mentor, and develop the sommelier and front-of-house team to deliver world-class service and expertise.

Requirements/skills:

Proven experience as a Head Sommelier or senior sommelier in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel. Strong understanding of food and wine pairing principles, with the creativity to design inspiring and harmonious combinations. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to train and educate staff while engaging confidently with guests. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintaining attention to detail and consistently delivering high-quality service. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in line with the restaurant's operating hours. A genuine passion for wine and hospitality, with a desire to share that passion with both guests and the team.
