Overview
We are a 600 cow family dairy business milking twice a day through a 40:40 herringbone parlour. Our facilites are modern and progressive and we are growing our herd performance from a current 10,000 litres base. We are focusing on key KPI's and are developing a high functioning dairy business that is responsible and accountable for the development of our business over the next 10 years. We do almost all our field and livestock operations in house and have modern well invested equipment.
This is an opportunity for someone with experience of working with livestock as well as being an experienced tractor operator. The ideal candidate will head up a young team and will be looking to develop the junior members of the team as well as carry out a vital role feeding and supporting the dairy herd during the winter and carrying out a full range of field work during the spring, summer and autumn. This role requires excellent tractor experience and skills, a good understanding of animal behaviour, a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work flexibly alone or in a team. You will also need a good sense of humour and a smile.
About Us
The farm is on the edge of Exmoor and is a 20 minute drive to some of the UK's best surf beaches.
Duties .
Take responsibility for a team feeding the cows daily, to include clamp management. This is part of a weekly rota including three feeders.
Cubicle management including sanding, bedding and scraping again on a rota basis
Slurry management including responsibility for dribble bar applications across 600 acres
Field work to include ploughing, power harrowing, cultivating and drilling.
Harvest work including mowing, tedding, silage trailers, buckraking and potential second driver on harvester, subject to experience.
Requirements
A full UK driving lkicence
Proof of UK right to work
Telehandler ticket preferred
A minumum of 4 years experience on a livestock farm, preferrably dairy.

Accommodation will be provided with this role, with a 3 bedroom house available.
Your working week is based on a 50 hour rota over 5 days working alternate weekends.
