We're looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse ready to take the next step as our new Head Nurse, leading a dedicated and talented team in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
Role Details
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll guide, mentor, and inspire our nursing team, which includes 7 experienced RVNs, fantastic Student Veterinary Nurses, and Animal Care Assistants. You'll play a key role in developing the team, maintaining clinical standards, and helping to shape how we deliver care.
You'll also have the opportunity to pursue your own areas of clinical interest, with the full support of our leadership team.Up to 36 hours per week across 4 days
1 in 5 weekend mornings (8.30am-12.30pm)
Time off in lieu for weekend work
No out-of-hours or on-call - we are a Vets Now host practice
About the Practice
Rhyd Broughton is a busy, fast-paced Tier 2 RCVS-accredited and Nurse Training Practice. We're proud to be a Vets Now host site, which means there's no out-of-hours work, allowing our team to enjoy a great work-life balance.
We're well equipped with ultrasound, endoscope, bronchoscope, digital x-ray, ECG and a large in-house laboratory. Our team includes a Veterinary Surgeon with a certificate in Surgery, and we hold regular clinical discussions to encourage learning and collaboration.
We're perfectly placed for those who love both adventure and relaxation - close to outdoor attractions such as Surf Snowdonia and Zip World, with easy access to climbing in Snowdonia and the stunning North Wales coast. For more leisurely days, we're just a short distance from Chester, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Liverpool One. With excellent transport links to Manchester, Liverpool and Holyhead, Wrexham offers an ideal balance between countryside living and convenience.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a confident, proactive and resourceful Registered Veterinary Nurse with strong communication skills and a passion for teamwork. You'll be RCVS registered and ready to take the next step in your career, leading with empathy and enthusiasm.
