Chevalet is a hybrid Bistro and art gallery above an arts club. We are seeking a friendly and professional Waiter & Bartender to join our vibrant hospitality & art team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional guest service, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring all patrons enjoy their experience. This role involves preparing and serving beverages, waiting tables, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding food safety standards. Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred, along with an interest in art. strong focus on guest satisfaction. The successful applicant will contribute to the lively environment of our venue while demonstrating excellent organisational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards and legal requirements
Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive experience
Take orders accurately and efficiently, managing multiple tables or bar stations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including glassware, utensils, and work surfaces
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing knowledgeable recommendations
Handle cash transactions accurately and operate POS systems effectively
Assist in setting up the bar area before service and closing down at the end of shifts
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow during busy periods
Manage time effectively to serve guests promptly during peak hours
Skills
Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant environments, with knowledge of serving techniques
Strong understanding of food safety standards and food preparation procedures
Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour
Basic maths skills for handling payments and managing tabs accurately
Experience with food preparation or culinary tasks is advantageous
Good organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
Time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy shifts
Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and sales potential
Kitchen or culinary experience is beneficial but not essential; willingness to learn is important
