Job Description

Coffee culture is a coffee roastery business with a series of independent coffeehouses and a restaurant within Worcestershire and Herefordshire. It's Owned by former Fortnum & Mason coffee buyer and restauranteur, Jon Hamilton. We are looking for a passionate head waiter and supervisor for our bistro cafe in ledbury called 'The Malthouse Bistro' .

Overview


We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Server to lead our front-of-house team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and restaurant service, with a passion for creating a welcoming atmosphere. This role offers an opportunity to utilise your leadership skills while ensuring smooth service operations and maintaining high standards of food safety and guest satisfaction.

Duties



Oversee the daily service operations, ensuring efficient and professional delivery of food and beverages to guests Lead, motivate, and organise the serving team to uphold service standards and optimise guest experience Assist with food preparation and presentation, ensuring dishes meet quality standards before serving Manage guest relations, addressing enquiries or concerns promptly and courteously Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing personalised recommendations Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the service area Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth workflow during busy periods Train new staff members on service procedures, health & safety policies, and company standards Handle cash transactions accurately and perform basic maths calculations for billing purposes

Requirements



Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant service, preferably in a supervisory or head server role Strong knowledge of food safety standards and food preparation processes Excellent guest services skills with a friendly, professional demeanour Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment Basic maths skills for handling bills and payments accurately Previous kitchen or culinary experience is advantageous but not essential Organisational skills to lead a team efficiently and ensure seamless service delivery A proactive attitude with excellent communication skills and attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 27,560.00 per year
