We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Server to lead our front-of-house team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant operations. This role involves overseeing service standards, managing staff, and ensuring smooth daily operations within a vibrant dining environment. Duties
Lead and supervise the serving team to ensure outstanding customer service and adherence to service protocols
Coordinate table assignments and manage reservations to optimise seating efficiency
Assist with food and beverage service, ensuring timely delivery and presentation of orders
Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing informed recommendations to guests
Oversee food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations at all times
Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation when required, maintaining seamless communication between front and back of house
Handle guest enquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a positive dining experience
Manage opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and report generation
Train new staff members on service standards, safety procedures, and company policies
Maintain a clean, organised work environment aligned with health and safety regulations
Qualifications
Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant service, ideally with prior supervisory or leadership responsibilities
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and food preparation techniques
Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
Basic maths skills for handling bills and transactions accurately
Experience working in kitchens or culinary environments is advantageous
Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively while maintaining high service standards
Time management skills to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
Knowledge of upselling techniques to enhance guest experience and maximise revenue
