Salary: 26,367 to 28,789 - Grade 7; Point 18-23 Cheshire East Council NJC Pay Structure

Start Date: 1st September 2025

Contract Type: 37 hours per week (full time), 39 weeks per year (term time only)

Contract Term: Permanent

Closing Date: Thursday 10th July 2025, Midday

Interview Date: Week commencing 14th July 2025 - TBC

We are looking to appoint an experienced Head's PA & HR Administrator to provide comprehensive, professional and flexible personal assistance to the Headteacher to support them in effective and efficient leadership of the school.

The successful candidate will assist the Headteacher and HR team in promoting the organisational effectiveness of the school within the school and the wider community. They will have:

Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload Strong communication skills to deliver efficient and effective communication with stakeholders including students, parents/carers, governors, and external bodies Proficiency in HR administration across the employee lifecycle Ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality

To whom responsible: Headteacher

Purpose of Post:

To provide comprehensive, professional and flexible personal assistance to the Headteacher to support them in effective and efficient leadership of the school. To operate with exceptional organisational abilities, a high level of confidentiality and the capacity to multitask effectively. Support the Headteacher in promoting the organisational effectiveness of the school within the school and the wider community.

To work as part of the HR team, providing administrative support for the school's HR function including but not exclusive to: contracts, payroll, recruitment, employee checks, attendance management and staff training.

Principal Duties



Act as the first point of contact for the Headteacher, managing correspondence, telephone calls and diary scheduling. Efficient and effective communication with stakeholders including students, parents/carers, governors, and external bodies Screening, managing and prioritising any telephone calls, incoming emails and mail addressed to the Headteacher Managing the handling of complaints in line with the school policy including accurate documentation of all complaints, correspondence and outcomes. To lead on administrative processes required to support the Headteacher Organise meetings, take minutes, prepare agendas and follow up on action points Draft letters, reports and presentations on behalf of the Headteacher for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that the school is presented in a professional manner at all times Support the organisation of school events and functions Liaison with the Governing Board and communication with the Clerk Support various projects and initiatives led by the Headteacher Advanced knowledge in a range of IT applications including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, SIMS To undertake ad-hoc duties as required to ensure the provision of a quality service for the school and wider SLT .

HR Responsibilities



Support the recruitment process including advertising, arranging interviews and preemployment checks such as DBS, right to work and reference checks Efficient, effective and accurate administration of staff attendance records Preparation of employment contracts, offer letters and supporting the onboarding process Administration and processing of payroll documentation including variable pay and expenses Accurate administration of staff training via the Hays training platform Maintain accurate and up to date personnel records for all staff on various systems including SIMS and the Single Central Record for OFSTED purposes. Book absence and probation review meetings with HR Manager when required To effectively manage the HR inbox and respond to general queries in a timely manner Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
