We are recruiting a full time, fixed-term (6 months) Health and Safety Advisor to join our team and be the first point of call within the organisation. This role will be mainly working from home with travel 1-2 days per week (potentially including an overnight stay). We cover locations across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
In this role you will:

  • advise colleagues nationally on matters of health and safety and undertaking health and safety related activities based on an agreed business need.
  • work with, and support operational colleagues in empowering colleagues to undertake their health and safety duties and compliance obligations with confidence.
  • be supporting health and safety communication and consultation arrangements nationally to ensure effective communication across the three countries is achieved and maintained.
  • be expected to respond proactively to any events requiring an immediate response such as fact finds, investigations, inspections or audits.
  • This role will include deputising duties for the Head of Health and Safety
We are looking for someone who:
  • has experience of working in a similar role, ideally within Health and Social Care or People focussed.
  • has experience of investigating incidents and identifying and implementing improvements
  • has experience of reviewing and writing health and safety policy, procedures /guidance and risk assessments
  • is a great communicator and enjoys working with all stakeholders
  • Completed or in the process of completing a NEBOSH certificate or equivalent
  • is credible, trustworthy and wanting to join an organisation in a role where they can grow and develop professionally
