Job Role: Health & Safety Manager Salary: \xc2\xa332,500 per year

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Bath, covering the South West of England

The Role:

As a Health & Safety Manager you will work to develop and embed a positive safety culture within the organisation as well as across all our projects

The role provides an exciting opportunity to lead and implement the effective management of health and safety practices and to be a source of competent advice for all our managers as they deliver services to those most in need.

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Senior Regional Manager (Buildings and Safety).

The role will work to develop and embed a positive safety culture within the organisation as well as across all our projects.

The role provides an exciting opportunity to lead and implement the effective management of health and safety practices and to be a source of competent advice for all our managers as they deliver services to those most in need.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a source of competent professional advice, providing support across the organisation to drive forward continual improvement of health and safety at Julian House
  • Ensure that our responsibilities for Health and Safety are managed, coordinated and completed to maintain staff, volunteer, client, contractor safety and legislative compliance.
  • Support client facing managers to fulfil their Health and Safety responsibilities across our projects, offices and commercial premises.
  • Motivating and enthusing our staff in order to gain commitment to implementing essential procedures and safe working practices.
  • Developing, influencing, managing and promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Using appropriate tools, identify training needs, prepare and/or deliver preprepared and bespoke training as required. Where appropriate, provide innovation in training delivery such as using webinars, video blogs etc.
  • Ensuring compliance in: gas and electrical safety and management, fire safety and risk management; legionella, asbestos and radon.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of H&S audit and inspection programme that targets improvement of key risk areas in our buildings. Produce regular updates on audit findings as well as other relevant KPI\'s which tracks Health and Safety performance. Take appropriate follow up action.
  • Manage accident & incident investigations and the reporting of these.
  • Continuously review and drive improvements in the safety of our people
  • Review systems to ensure our teams are equipped to deliver safe services that are fully compliant with regulatory requirements including Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
  • Develop and implement internal assurance systems
  • Ensuring health and safety inspections, fire risk assessments and improvement plans are completed as required.
