We at Bouygues and Energies Services are looking for a full time Health and Safety Manager to work out of our office at Beckett House.

  • To support the BYES Health and Safety Lead in the delivery of the H&S strategy for Bouygues Energies & Services in line with overall BYES objectives and targets..
  • To agree with the H&S Lead the local requirements for H&S support across their region to support achievement of contractual H&S objectives and targets.
  • Attend planning meetings where required to ensure that H&S arrangements are appropriately considered and integrated into the plan of works
  • Support a culture of open hazard and near miss reporting through engagement with management and operatives and provide advice for positive action and feedback
  • Ensuring that incidents/accidents and dangerous occurrences are investigated to identify root cause and that appropriate remedial action is taken to prevent recurrence
  • Advise the BYES team on the completion of the monthly SafeSite performance indicators and that there is a strategy to improve scores month on month.
  • Undertake regular Health and Safety Audits and Site Inspections to support the Operational team in the safe continuance of their activities
Person Specification
  • Hold a qualification to NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent standard or be working towards this
  • Hold membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or equivalent recognisable professional organisation and able to demonstrate continuing professional development
  • Have previous experience in a H&S management role, within the Construction, Infrastructure, Facilities Management industries or from the H&S enforcement environment
  • Professional and enthusiastic in approach and able to work on their own using their initiative and to given deadlines
  • Strong people management skills
  • Have a thorough knowledge of occupational health, safety legislation, International and British standards and best practice
  • Able to travel to multiple site locations within the regional area of responsibility and on occasion, elsewhere as required
