REPORTS TO: Head of Operations - MPUK

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Create a strong safety culture on all aspect of the business, striving for Independent to Interdependent (Bradley Curve).
Promote a safety culture where individuals take personal responsibility (Independent) and teams actively support each other to work safely together (Interdependent), in line with the Bradley Curve model.
Create the framework & governance for a comprehension Risk Assessment program.
Ensure effective management, measurement, reporting, and control of all accidents and incidents, with timely and appropriate responses. This includes clear communication and escalation to all relevant stakeholders and senior management, as defined by company protocols.
Ensure all 1st Aid provision is suitable and is appropriate for the risks identified.
Provide information and training to meet the requirements of Risk Assessments, Accidents and Incidents. This should be in the form of Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Systems of Work and Safe Working Procedures.
Consult with employees to identify regulatory and operational risks, designing and implementing internal controls to ensure compliance and a safe working environment for all colleagues.
Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated to the true Root Cause and recommended improvements are implemented.
Deliver health & safety inductions and ongoing training for all employees.
Perform routine risk assessments to ensure the business understands compliance risk, scope and significance.
Monitoring the organisation's compliance with regulations and internal policies to ensure they are up to date with the relevant laws and requirements.
Lead Health & Safety Committee meetings, recording and reporting thereafter, following up and maintaining all actions.
Record findings properly, following up with management to ensure the issues are rectified in a timely manner.
Establish a structured program of health & safety training to meet the demands of the H&S system requirements.
Review and drive compliance of the site H&S policy and H&S management system.
Gathering information internally in response to requests by regulatory organisations.
Collaborating with management to ensure compliance and investigating irregularities.
Receive and manage external inspections.
Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work and communicate relevant changes to stakeholders.
Assist wider corporate team with Audit follow up on health and safety matters.
Empower managers to drive and lead health and safety in their departments.
Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Health and Safety qualifications Nebosh and or IOSH, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
To have a clear understanding of what good looks like and how to get there.
Experience in managing Health and safety in the food industry.
Excellent communication and verbal skills with all levels of the organisation and fluency in English.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with the ability to troubleshoot issues, develop new and adapt existing spreadsheets.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in team situations requiring the ability to develop and implement competitive initiatives across departments.
Motivation: Have a self-motivated desire to perform above and beyond expected with minimal supervision and a strong ability to be hands-on and work independently.
Excellent ability to analyze data timely, efficiently, effectively and multi-task. projects/assignments simultaneously.
Analytical: Above average ability to independently evaluate trends, explore areas for improvement and provide possible solutions.
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to build and maintain cross-functional working relationships in a team Environment.
Teamwork: Balance team and individual responsibilities for group efficiencies. Able to work effectively with all levels of management to obtain team objectives.
Organization: Ability to stay focused on prioritized tasks while handling emergency situations during times of high stress or heavy workload.
