Responsibilities:
Deliver hands-on personal care, including assistance with daily living activities (washing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support).
Accurately monitor and record patient observations (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure) and promptly report changes to the healthcare team.
Support with nutritional and hydration needs, ensuring patient well-being.
Assist with simple wound care, specimen collection, and other clinical tasks delegated by a registered nurse.
Escort and support patients during appointments, activities, or transfers within the facility.
Contribute to care planning by providing observations and feedback to senior staff.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with policies and regulatory standards.
Uphold infection control practices and health and safety guidelines at all times.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience working in a healthcare or care setting (NHS or social care) is essential.
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, and equality and diversity principles.
Desirable Skills:
Familiarity with electronic care planning and record systems.
Experience working in hospital, community, or care home environments.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing needs.
