Applecross is a family run care home. We care for older residents and also have three specialist units that care for younger people. Since 1997, Applecross has provided expert care for people with physical disabilities and other illnesses that require short-term or long-term nursing support. Recognising the unique needs of each individual, our highly trained and professional, caring staff aim to meet the needs of each person through a carefully designed and individualised care plan.

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring a high standard of care is maintained at all times. You will work closely with patients to assist them with daily activities, monitor their wellbeing, and contribute positively to their overall healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort. Help in the preparation of meals and assist patients during mealtimes. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to health and safety regulations. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive atmosphere. Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining patient records and scheduling appointments. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact empathetically with patients. A caring attitude towards others and a commitment to providing high-quality care. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required. Basic understanding of health and safety regulations within a healthcare environment. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
