As a Night Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality care and support to residents throughout the night, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will assist with personal care, respond to needs promptly, carry out regular checks, and maintain accurate records, contributing to a calm and caring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and continence support.
Assist residents with mobility and repositioning to prevent bedsores.
Carry out hourly checks and respond to call bells or emergencies promptly.
Ensure residents are comfortable, safe, and treated with dignity and respect.
Administer medication if trained and authorised to do so.
Keep accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' condition.
Carry out light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, or preparing light meals.
Work collaboratively with other team members to maintain a calm night-time environment.
Support end-of-life care if required, providing compassionate assistance to residents and families.
Requirements:
Experience in care (preferred but not essential; training may be provided)
A caring, empathetic, and patient nature
Ability to work night shifts reliably
Good communication and observational skills
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (desirable)
Working Conditions:
