Health Care Assistant (Nights)

to join our team and help create a warm, supportive environment from day one.

About the Role:

As a Health Care Assistant working night shifts, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of our residents during overnight hours. You'll provide personal care, emotional support, and help maintain a calm and secure atmosphere throughout the night.

Duties

Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support residents in following their individual care plans to ensure their specific needs are met. Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the healthcare team. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive environment. Help with mobility and physical activities, ensuring safety at all times. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in patient living areas. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare staff regarding patient needs and progress. Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes.

Skills

Proficient in English, with excellent verbal communication skills to interact with patients and colleagues. Ability to drive is advantageous for home care positions where travel is required. Experience or familiarity with care plans is highly desirable. Background in home care or working within a care home setting is preferred. Strong IT skills for managing patient records and documentation efficiently. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for success in this role.
