Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including care homes, assisted living facilities, and private homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, particularly with individuals suffering from Alzheimer's and dementia, and will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Administer medication as prescribed and maintain accurate records of medication administration. Assist clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during heavy lifting when necessary. Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each client. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation. Monitor clients' health status and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Support clients with behaviour management strategies as needed. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations. Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a nursing home, care home, or similar setting is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology related to patient care is beneficial. Certification in First Aid is an advantage. Experience with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is preferred. Familiarity with caregiving practices and case management principles is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties. A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to help others.
