Are you looking to expand your skills and enhance your career to include providing Complex Clinical Care or do you already have Complex Care experience?

Are you an experienced Health and Care Support Worker looking to expand on your knowledge and skills in clinical care in the community, this may be the perfect role for you!

We are looking for a skilled, dedicated, and caring Health and Care Support Worker to work with our Client and his Team in Glossop (SK13) Our client's support requires 2:1 24/7 day and night (waking night).

Our client is a young man aged 33 with acquired disabilities from spinal and neuro injuries caused by a severe tropical mosquito virus (Japanese Encephalitis) whilst travelling in Laos and Thailand. He has always been an active football and sports fan, playing for local teams in Glossop and Hollingworth. He is a Manchester United fan but likes 'all things football' and watches all matches and sports competitions on TV. He's also a Glossop FC fan and enjoys going to the local matches with his support workers.

Before his acquired travel virus injury he attended Edinburgh University studying History and Politics, playing also for the University football team. He then worked in Social Housing before his travel ventures. He has wide interests and enjoys also all the popular TV reality shows, films and series. He likes getting out and about in his mobilty van at least twice a week to local venues and coffee shops, and to the cinema every fortnight.

He has a rehab programme carried out by his support workers of speech and language (SaLT), communication, physical therapy, and vent- off breathing therapy times. His disabilities are mainly due to spinal injury and he is currently 'non- verbal', but this may improve in the future with all his rehab therapies. However, he can communicate well in all other ways, and has a great sense of humour!

He has a strong and very caring personality, and despite his disabilities, he is fun to be with! and keeps positive every day.

It is important you have good interpersonal skills and understand his method of communication to understand his wants and needs, as he is non-verbal.

Rehabilitation is a key part of his clinical and care and support needs and you will work with the client, other professionals, and his team in his rehabilitation in areas of ventilation/trach, communication and nutrition and passive movement.
