The Health Club Team Leader role at Roehampton Club is a dynamic and integral position combining responsibilities of both Lifeguard and Duty Manager across scheduled shifts each week. This leadership role is vital to the smooth and safe operation of the Health Club facilities. Reporting directly to the Health Club Operations Manager, the Team Leader oversees the day-to-day operations of all Health Club areas, including the Indoor and Outdoor Pools, Gym, Studios, Spa, Steam Room, Sauna, and related activities. The role also includes lifeguarding shifts to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all members and guests. A key focus is the correct operation and maintenance of the pool plant rooms in accordance with PWTAG regulations. Success in this role requires a highly professional, proactive, and enthusiastic individual. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, embrace change and challenges with confidence, and demonstrate a genuine passion for delivering a first-class member experience. Responsibilities
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all members and guests
Ensure the Health Club meets the necessary standards of hygiene and cleanliness, liaising with the Housekeeping team & Manager
Ensure safe operation of all equipment within the Health Club
Monitor pool chemical levels and manage the plant rooms to ensure the pools are safe and clean for members to swim
Ensure all daily, weekly, monthly health & safety checks are completed to the highest standard.
Ensure the smooth operation of all leisure activities, providing guidance and leadership to the departmental staff & supervisors
Publicise, promote and support all pool, Gym, Studio activities and events
Ensure the safe running of all plant rooms, water testing, back washing procedures in line with Health Club policies and procedures
Contribute to reduce operational costs and ensure the Health Club Pools, Gym and Studios are run as efficiently as possible to reduce energy costs and consumable waste
Assist in training and educating employees to work efficiently, effectively and to the required health and safety standards
Ensure effective communication between all Health Club departments, other Club departments and Club Members
Ensuring colleagues always uphold employee standards as laid out in the employee handbook
Work with Health Club employees to devise and implement programmes for Members to maximise Member enjoyment and use of the Health Club
Ensure that the Health Club always offers a friendly efficient service and employees are always fully briefed and are welcoming to visitors
Ensure that employees actively enforce Club Rules and Policies sensibly to maintain a clean, safe and enjoyable environment
Act as lead Health Club Duty Manager as required.
