Summary



We are seeking a Health, Safety and Compliance Officer to join our Support Services team. This role is critical in ensuring Phoenix Gas Services operates in full compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and best practices in health, safety, environment, and quality. This role will also support the business in maintaining robust internal compliance controls, auditing processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities



Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (SHEQ)

Monitor and promote compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all business functions. Conduct site inspections both on site and in the field, complete risk assessments and method statements, and audits on field based operatives to identify hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance. Lead incident investigations and ensure effective implementation of corrective actions. Support the delivery of SHEQ training and toolbox talks to employees and subcontractors. Assist in maintaining and improving the company's ISO certifications Keep up-to-date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and any developments that affect the company
Compliance:

Ensure company policies, procedures, and documentation meet legal and regulatory requirements Support the development, implementation, and review of internal compliance audits and control systems Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections or reviews Maintain the company's compliance register, ensuring timely updates and reviews. Monitor and report on key compliance KPIs to management Champion a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across all departments

Requirements



Essential:

NEBOSH General Certificate Experience in a SHEQ or Compliance role, ideally within the gas industry Working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and quality/environmental standards Working knowledge of UK regulations Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable:

Experience with ISO standards Gas ACS (Domestic/Commercial) or Electrical qualifications, or experience in similar roles NEBOSH Fire NEBOSH Environmental Experience with Gas Safe and related industry regulatory bodies Knowledge of data protection and GDPR Compliance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 33,000.00-37,000.00 per year
