We have partnered with a Global, leading manufacturing organisation who are seeking to appoint a HSE Advisor to work as part of a the HSE team and closely with the HSE Manager. The successful applicant will be based at the flagship manufacturing facility near Stockport, Greater Manchester.

The HSE Advisor position requires a hands-on approach and a passion for cultural safety. The successful applicant will be part of a team who are focussed on the Health and Safety continuous improvement process across the business as well as promoting a \xe2\x80\x98safety-first\xe2\x80\x99 culture.

  • To assist the HS&E Manager, Directors, Departmental Managers and the HSE committee with actions necessary to comply with statutory requirements and daily functions of the business.
  • To assist in the development, promotion and maintenance of the company\xe2\x80\x99s Health, Safety and Environment Management systems.
  • To provide advice and guidance on statutory compliance and to keep updated on regulatory changes.
  • Participate in change management projects to ensure Safety is included and engaged at all times to ensure safe execution of projects.
  • Foster effective relationships at all levels, utilizing strong interpersonal skills.
  • Deliver monthly toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training as required
  • To assist the HSE Manager in the development, maintenance and communication of meaningful Health, Safety & Environment performance metrics.
  • In line with HSE system requirements: Facilitate and coordinate regular monitoring, workplace inspections, safety tours, internal/external system audits and to develop/track action plans that address the key findings.
  • To review and where necessary update safety procedures in line with current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation requirements. To promote their implementation and ensure their effectiveness by continuous monitoring and review.
  • To coordinate risk assessment activity, supporting successful risk assessments where required. To update and publish Risk Assessment and Correct Action Report progress charts, highlighting areas of non compliance or concern to the wider team.
  • To compile and maintain COSHH data and raise the awareness necessary to ensure the operation meets its regulatory responsibilities.
  • To ensure that company procedures for accident and near miss reporting are followed by employees and appropriate corrective Actions are implemented in a timely manner to prevent re-occurrence.
  • To assist the HSE Manager in investigating accident and incident investigations in line with company policy and procedures.
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
  • Previous experience in a HSE Advisor role or similar
  • Ideally NEBOSH qualified. However IOSH Managing Safely and working towards NEBOSH will be considered.
  • An Engineering/ Manufacturing background is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of HSE systems, legislation and accreditations \xe2\x80\x93 ISO45001 and ISO14001 Desirable
  • Ability to carry out internal audits/inspections
