This is a high-impact role where you'll work closely with senior leaders and operational teams to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance, and embed a culture of safety and sustainability across our business.

What you'll be doing
Partner with leaders to implement HS&E strategies and drive continuous improvement.
Support ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 accreditation and maintain SMS & EMS systems.
Lead initiatives to improve safety, environmental performance, and wellbeing.
Advise and coach managers on legal compliance and practical HS&E solutions
Conduct audits, risk assessments, and investigations to enhance standards.
Analyse performance data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to senior Managers identifying opportunities for improvement
Develop and deliver HS&E training and contribute to policy development.
Represent First Bus at internal and external HS&E forums.
About you
Qualifications:
NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum), working towards NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or IEMA equivalent
Chartered Member of IOSH (or working towards)
Skills & Experience:
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels
Commercially astute with effective problem-solving abilities
Experience in unionised, multi-site environments
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
Proven ability to manage time, prioritise, and work across a matrix structure
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and risk management expertise
Skilled in delivering strategic training and development programmes
Strong understanding of UK HS&E legislation and practical application
Experience in project and change management
