As a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor, you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Management Team in promoting and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and develop a solid foundation in health and safety practices and general compliance requirements for a rapidly developing company specialising in roofing and cladding.

Key Responsibilities
As a Health, Safety and Compliance Advisor, you'll need to:
Assist in ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards including ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
Assist in conducting risk assessments and weekly site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.
Collaborate with the Head of Compliance to develop, review, and implement health and safety and other HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Support in investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, and contribute to the development of preventive measures.
Assist in delivering health and safety training programmes and tool box talks to all employees and subcontractors raising awareness and promoting a safety culture.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of safety records, reports, and documentation.
Stay up-to-date with emerging health and safety trends, best practices, and technologies.
Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment and integration of health, safety, and compliance practices into daily operations.
Maintain and update the training matrix and certification of employee records.
Provide initial support in addressing employee inquiries and basic employee relations issues.
Collaborate with Senior Management to resolve employee concerns and maintain positive employee relations.
Qualifications and Skills
Must Have:
NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or working towards.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey health and safety information to various stakeholders.
Ability to assess risks, analyse data, and provide practical recommendations for hazard control.
Keen eye for detail to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from senior advisors.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, One Drive and relevant software for documentation and data analysis.
A willingness to develop and undergo any necessary training courses required such as a NEBOSH Construction Certificate, CDM Awareness Courses and any relevant course to assist within the compliance role.

Extensive experience in the construction industry.
Working hours
The working week is 40 hours based in our offices in Cambridge - with regular visits to sites within the UK.
